There are two ways to employ someone in UK with one being opening a local entity to hire an employee and handling all aspects of their employment, such as signing an employment contract, registering them with the Social Security system, and managing payroll and benefits. Another feasible way is by Partnering with an Employer of Record (EOR): An EOR is a third-party entity that acts as the legal employer on your behalf. By partnering with an EOR, you can outsource the administrative and legal responsibilities of employing someone in UK, including contract management, payroll, tax compliance, and benefits administration, allowing you to focus on the core aspects of your business.
The minimum wage in UK is fixed at EUR 1,166.7 per month, which is EUR 14,000 per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.
In UK, the standard full-time working hours are typically 40 hours per week. However, there may be variations depending on the industry, collective bargaining agreements, or specific company policies.
13th and 14th-month salary payments are mandatory in UK. It is common practice for the annual salary to be split into 14 instalments to account for the double salary payment, which the employer will pay in July and December; this is stipulated in the employee's employment contract and collective agreements.
Employees in UK are entitled to at least 30 days of paid vacation per year, which equates to 22 working days per year. Employees may spread these out over the year or take them all at once, as long as each period lasts at least two weeks.
